20 Mesh means the materials was passed through a 20 Mesh screen at the Christy Minerals factory, and this is what fit through the screen. 20 Mesh is our most coarse grog material.
Christy Grog is a fine, calcined clay product used in ceramics to add texture, reduce shrinkage, and improve thermal shock resistance in clay bodies. It is commonly used in stoneware, sculptural clay, and hand-built pottery to create grogged textures, strengthen the body, and reduce warping during drying and firing.
